Laurel County teen arrested following traffic stop


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Daniel Grigsby and Deputy Cody Faulconer arrested Emma Ball age 18 Of Parker Rd., London early Tuesday morning September 20, 2016 at approximately 12:14 AM.

The arrest occurred approximately 3 miles south of London after deputies conducted a traffic stop on a silver colored Toyota Solara.

During the traffic stop deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and conducted an investigation on the driver determining that the driver was under the influence.

Deputies found the driver in possession of marijuana and a pipe and learned from the driver that she had smoked marijuana approximately 30 min. earlier. Emma Ball was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; license to be in possession; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; unlawful transaction with a minor third-degree; failure of owner to maintain required insurance– first offense; and failure to wear seatbelts.

The driver was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
